I have been challenged a lot over the last few months and especially in the last couple of weeks about the local church being a family. The conclusion is simple: My church is my family. Every single person of that family has their place and purpose, their strengths and their weaknesses. Your church family are there to uphold and strengthen you; but only if you allow them to do so. You too are there to do the same for each person. Your family feel your pain, share in your joy and sorrow, mourn with you and laugh with you; sit with you when you don't want to be alone and step back when you feel like you're suffocating. They want to love and protect you.

I am singing at a charity event at the Circus Tavern tonight and my shoes have just arrived (cutting it fine I know!!!). Anyway this quote was on the box and although it is not deeply theological or thought provoking it made me giggle so I wanted to share it. It has been said alot recently about Jesus' coming again and in my thoughts tonight I find myself really focusing on that. I keep asking myself am I ready? If Jesus came today, tomorrow or even next week, am I prepared? Maki said something to a group of us on Monday about a pastor he knew who kept a banner on his wall that said "MAYBE TODAY". It gives me such food for thought. I need to make all my actions count. They must all be for Jesus and must all be in-line with God's will for my life. Empty, hollow and sinful actions, thoughts, feelings and words will not and cannot be explained on judgement day - whenever that may come.
