My Grandfather..........

My Grandad has been described in the local gazette as a 'would-be-hero'.

He is a nightmare, last week while a robbery was taking place he was close by, but instead of leaving it (especially as he is in his 70's), he decided to trip the thieves up while they were running past!!! When asked why, his reply was "just instincts really". When told off ferociously by my Mother and Grandmother (and you really wouldn't want that to happen,) about the possibility of the thieves being armed his response was "I didn't actually think of that, and they weren't so it's OK, I am just upset they didn't get caught!". So we had great fun today in winding him up about his up coming questioning from the local police - bless him!!!

Peacemaker..........

Tonight we took some of the youth to hear Tony Anthony speak. It was truly inspiring and moving. I know the youth loved it and lapped up every second available to them, so much so they all have his book 'Taming the Tiger' and want to talk about what was said at youth cell this week. After such a powerful session I wanted to go and wind down and just spend some time out, not doing anything except exsisting. So I took a slow drive down to Southend, my intention to take a walk along the sea front and just breathe the air available. I parked up overlooking the sea and just thought. I had no real train of thought or specific prayer points I wanted to cover. I just let my mind and God's words lead me. I then put on the most stunning CD a beautiful friend did for me. Christmas is approaching........

Today we put up the church Christmas decorations which was so comical, we had such a giggle and really enjoyed ourselves. It wasn't until I got home that it sank in - it is almost Christmas. Can you believe that we are already in December? Chris and I led our last youth cell till 2008 this evening and it was hilarious with the kids. They are just the greatest bunch of young people anyway, but playing games such as twister with them was just side splitting! Talking to them about Christmas and this time of year was just so thought provoking, they say what the usual teenagers say (actually what the majority of people say!) how they're looking forward to the food, presents and dressing up, on the other hand just simple comments like 'I am looking forward to the carol service', 'I am looking forward to spending time with my family' and 'I am looking forward to spending time away from the commercial Christmas' (how huge is that for a 13 year old to say!!!)
